3M’s Online Reservation System
3M’s dental division sales representatives travel throughout the country demonstrating products at dental shows and seminars. The reps and their managers needed a more automated and scaleable solution for reserving 3M demo booths to the reps who need them.
Digital Solutions provided an online reservation system with a secure portal login that allows multiple representatives to log in and make reservations concurrently, and includes access privilege management based on user groups.
The new reservation system delivers a highly automated scheduling process, including sales rep reminders about upcoming reservations or missing reservation details. Reservation statistics are tracked for each representative. The scheduling process also minimizes the shipping costs for demo booths by automatically choosing the available booth nearest to a representative’s next demo event.
With a growing company in mind, the entire portal is designed to scale and expand when additional inventory, new displays, and new market areas are added to the system.
